On July 21, 1965, Darren Kerry Woods was born to Otis D. Woods, Sr. and Anna B. Woods in Kansas City, Kansas. Darren attended school in the Kansas City Missouri School District. He went on to spend most of his life as an entrepreneur. On September 29, 2021, Darren Kerry Woods age 56, told his family he was going "HOME". Darren touched many lives, created lifelong friendships one of which was with Akil Mustafa (Chuck), who faithfully protected their brotherly bond. Darren enjoyed being with his family and friends; loved playing cards, video games, dominos, watching football, and he had a deep appreciation of music. He was a kind, generous, and loving person who will forever be missed. Darren was preceded in death by both parents Otis D. Woods Sr., and Anna B Woods, his paternal and maternal grandparents, brothers Otis D. Woods, Jr., and Terron Woods, and a granddaughter Blessing Anna Woods. Darren is survived by a sister Anna Woods-Johnson, brothers Mark Woods (Crystal Burgin-Woods), and Ernest (Firecracker) Boyd. Children: Tahisha Walker, Antonio Woods, Brittany Thomas, Jayce Thomas, and Destiny Woods. Grandchildren: Jah-Juan Woods, Xariyah Woods, Antonio Woods Jr., Cornell Hi-King Brown, and Makai Jay Bowen. A host of family members and friends. A service of remembrance will be held at 2:00 p.m., October 9, 2021 at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors Chapel, 9100 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, MO. Visitation 1:00 p.m. - 2. Interment XII Gates Cemetery. Repast information will be announced following the service. Masks and social distancing required for service attendance.
