Darryl Dawayne Manning, 58, passed away on May 10, 2020 in San Diego, California. He was born on February 8, 1962 to the union of Johnnie B. Manning and Fannie B. Hill in Kansas City, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Johnny (Benny) Hill, loving grandmother, Aryberter Phenix and a son, Davion Manning.

Darryl was raised at an early age in the Church of God In Christ. He received his education in the Kansas City School District.

Darryl met and married his first wife Unita Blunt in 1983. To this union two children were born. He later moved to San Diego, California in 1997 and united with Joyce Owens to this union two children were born, in which one son preceded him in death.

Darryl nickname "Black" worked in the construction field for most of his life. During his leisure time, he enjoyed grilling, hanging out with family and friends and telling jokes. He justed wanted to enjoy life and make others laugh. He was a loving father and family man. He loved his family and spoke of returning to Kansas City often. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Joyce , his children, Darryl Manning (Sharron), Denia Bates (Jason), Dajuan Manning; two granddaughters, Aria and Alauna who brought him joy;brother, Marlon Manning; sisters, Helen Allen, Donna Bennett (Darren), Vicki Manning, Mickey Manning and Tandra Manning, a host of nephews, nieces, cousins other relatives and friends.

Memorial services Friday, May 29, 2020, 5:00 p.m. at the Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors Chapel. Interment Saturday, June 6, at 1:00pm XII Gates Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
