DaSean Sayyid Colbert, 16, was born June 20, 2000 to J. Tyrell Colbert and Destiny S. Carter in Kansas City Missouri. He was the eldest of six children. DaSean was a junior at Ruskin High School. As a natural born athlete, he enjoyed playing sports of all kind. His friends would agree that he was quite the jokester, was very theatrical and of course he loved the girls. Those who knew DaSean would describe him as being very charismatic and imaginative. DaSean accepted Christ and attended Second Missionary Baptist Church. He was baptized in January of 2010 at Evangel Spiritual Temple. DaSean loved his family tremendously, and as both the eldest boy of his first cousins and the eldest paternal and maternal grandchild he so easily looked after the younger ones, being as helpful and caring as needed. DaSean departed this life on November 23, 2016. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Left to cherish DaSean's memory are his mother, Destiny S. Carter; father J. Tyrell Colbert; two brothers, Tyrell Colbert and Tyree Colbert; three sisters, Marquis Clark, J. Tyi'san Colbert and Tyi'Shon Colbert; paternal grandmother, Belva Ewing; maternal grandfather, Michael Carter; maternal grandmother, Sherrie McDowell-Robinson (Raymond) of Guthrie OK; maternal great grandfather, Blanchard Talbert; maternal great grandmother, Helen Pankey (Alphonso); uncles, Ameer McDowell and Noah Carter; aunts, Joharya Colbert, Javelle Colbert, Alicia Betts and Shedah Carter; a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 3, 11:00 a.m. at New Vision Christian Church. Interment XII Gates Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the church.
