David was born to Paul Sr. and Brenda Dowdell on July 24, 1973 in Shreveport LA. Due to his father's service with the United States Airforce, in his early childhood, the family often traveled between Middle Eastern regions and the United States. The experience helped to give David a view of the world that was more diverse and broad than many could imagine. The Dowdell family settled in Kansas City and later moved to Grandview, Missouri where David was a student of both the Kansas City and Grandview school district. David was equal parts of cleverness and wittiness as he was humorous and resourceful, traits that he relied on as a role model and eldest of five children. David was preceded in death by his mother Brenda Joyce, father Paul Sr., Grandmothers Mattie and Gladys, as well as his grandfather Elbert Sr.
