David Allen Powell, Jr., 67, was born January 9, 1950 in Caruthersville, Missouri to the union of the late David Sr. and Ellen Matilda Powell.

David received his education in Caruthersville, Missouri and attended Washington High School. He later attended Lincoln University before enlisting in the United States Army. David was employed with the Jackson County Juvenile Courts for a number of years, as he was passionate about working with children.

David accepted Christ as his Savior and was a member of Maranatha Family Worship Center, where he served as a deacon.

David departed this earthly life on December 24, 2017 at St. Luke's Hospital East. His memory will live on in the lives of those he knew and loved.

He leaves to cherish his memory: one son, David Allen Powell III; three brothers, Jerry Powell, Perry Powell and Dan Powell; one grandchild and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
