Anthony Wayne Edwards 58, died Friday, December 11, 2020 at the home.

Deacon Anthony, "Tony" Edwards died suddenly in his home on December 11, 2020 in Lees Summit, MO at the age of 58. His loss was completely unexpected and the family is shocked and deeply saddened.

Anthony is survived by his son; Devin Edwards, Daughter-n-Law, Dr. Victorie Edwards, and grandson, Devon Edwards of Lee's Summit, MO, as well as his brothers Keith and Kenneth Edwards of Kansas City MO and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife Pearlene Edwards (2016) and his parents, Mary (1995) & James Edwards (2000) of Kansas City, and his sister Carolyn Dade, of West Monroe.

Anthony Wayne Edwards was born on June 7, 1962 in Kansas City, Missouri to Mary & James Edwards. He graduated from East High School in 1980 and took coursework at the Metropolitan Community College. He married Pearlene Edwards on September 29, 1990 and they had one child, Devin Edwards. Anthony Edwards supported his family working for Kellogg's for 30 years where he served the Local 184L Union and worked as a Fork Lift Driver and Trainer.

Anthony was a generous individual who loved his family and the Lord. He was an active and dedicated member of Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and often volunteered. He is remembered as a loving, hardworking, charitable and kind man.

A funeral is scheduled for 11:00 am. December 21, 2020 at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Home, at 9100 Blue Ridge Blvd. Kansas City, MO 64138. Reverend Linson Q. Nelson, Sr. will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Anthony's life; however Social Distancing will be in effect and ALL attendees must wear a mask.

The family would like to thank each and every one for your support, kind words and encouragement.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, December 21, 2020 at 12 noon at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors Chapel. Interment will be at XII Gates Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation from 11am-12 pm. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
