Deacon Ebbie Lee Stanley ,82, was born on June 17, 1937 in Marianna, Arkansas to the union of Alsee and Birdie Lou Stanley. His parents, five brothers, Alfonzo Stanley, Ozie Stanley, Theoplis Stanley, Hubbie Stanley and Humphrey Stanley; one son, Christopher Stanley all preceded him in death.
Ebbie was educated in the Marianna, Arkansas public schools. On July 10, 1958 he united in marriage to the former Irene Henry and to this union six children were born. After forty six years of marriage she also preceded him in death. He also relocated to the Kansas City, Missouri in 1958, where he made his home for sixty one years.
Ebbie was employed at Ford Motor Company on August 28, 1967, until he retired on August 28, 1997 with thirty years of service. After retirement he owned and operated E. L. Stanley Lawn Service along his grandson Andre.
Ebbie accepted Christ at an early age and united with the Antioch Baptist Church in Marianna, Arkansas. After moving to Kansas City, In 1961 he united with the Emmauel Baptist Church later renamed Emmanuel Church under the leadership of Dr. W. H. White, Sr. In 1967 he was appointed to the Deacon Board serving for ten years and in 1977, he was appointed Chairman. As a faithful member, Deacon Stanley, served his church in several capacities including, Sunday School teacher, Chairman of Transportation Committee, Armor Bearer to the Bishop W. H. White, Sr., Usher Board and Male Chorus.
Deacon Stanley united in marriage to the former Charline Bracy on November 25, 2006. He was a loving father, brother, grandfather and uncle.
Deacon Ebbie Lee Stanley departed this life on Sunday, May 17, 2020 at the home.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife, Charline Stanley, of the home; his children, Donna Webb, Barbara Burris, Larry Stanley, Jonathan Stanley (Shalanda), Latonya Stanley, Cynthia Powell (Ricky), Larry Davis, Clarence Davis (Carol) and Walter Davis, Larry Stanley and Joyce Broadway; one brother, James Stanley, Marianna, AR; grandchildren, Cassandra Webb, Regina Webb, Edward Stanley, Andre Burris, Shanice Holland, Brendan White, Ashlyn White, Brittany Stanley, Jonathan Stanley, Jr. and Aniyah; four great-grandsons, three great-granddaughters, a host of other relatives, friends and his beloved Emmanuel Church family.
Funeral service Saturday, May 23, 2020, 11:00 a.m. Emmanuel Baptist Church. Interment Blue Ridge Lawn Cemetery. Visitation 10:00-11:00 a.m at the church. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
