DeAnthony Ray Parker, 63, departed from his home to his eternal rest November 16, 2018. Ray, as he was known, graced our lives when he was brought into the world the 26th of December 1954 through the union of Theodore Sr. & Roberta Parker as the sixth of nine children. He attended Linwood, Milton Moore, and Greenwood Elementary Schools, Central Junior and Senior High Schools; class of 1974, and Penn Valley Community College.

He served in the Missouri National Guard as Stock Control Supplyman. He held positions with John Deere; Eppinger Printing; the Internal Revenue Service, the Kansas City Star and the Kansas City Board of Education. He loved and drew the most enjoyment from his work at Central High School as a cafeteria worker until his retirement in January 2017.

Preceding him in death were his parents; sister Brenda Parker, brothers Robert Parker and Larry Parker; aunt Rev. Flora Nunley, uncles Otis Bridges and David Anderson. He will be mourned by his sister Karla Parker, brothers Theodore Parker, Jr., Gerald (Christof) Parker, Frank Parker and Jon Parker; and countless cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.

Memorial services Thursday, January 17, 2019, 11:00 a.m. at Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on website.
