Obituary

DeJuan Ray Henderson was born to Norma Ennis and Darrell Ray Henderson Sr. on November 20, 1987, in Omaha, Nebraska. Dejuan spent his early childhood years in Marianna Arkansas learning at the feet of his grandmother Elnora" Big Mama" Ennis and trailing behind his older brother Darrell Henderson Jr. for childhood adventures. In 1991 DeJuan moved to Kansas City, MO along with his mother and brother, Darrell. Once Dejuan relocated to Kansas City, MO, he made a host of friends who would turn more into his brothers than his friends. Dejuan was proud Class of 2006 Ruskin Senior High School graduate. DeJuan had a thirst for knowledge and was an avid reader and writer. DeJuan never hesitated at the chance to engage in an intellectual debate with any newfound knowledge he had absorbed. DeJuan also enjoyed making music with brothers Garrett, Brandon, Chris and Cousin Ricky. DeJuan recorded many freestyle raps under his stage name "Cash". DeJuan received some higher education at Missouri Western University, once again following behind his older brother, Darrell. While attending Missouri Western University, Dejuan met Allyson "Ally" Washington. In 2009 Allyson and DeJuan welcomed DeJuan's first-born son, Dejuan Ray Henderson Jr. In 2013 DeJuan reconnected with his high school sweetheart Denise Wyatt. DeJuan's reconnection with Denise paved the way for their marriage in 2018. DeJuan and Denise's loving union resulted in two beautiful children, Desean Ray Henderson, and Destiny RayShawn Henderson. Dejuan gained a special relationship with his father-in-law, Darren Wyatt who guided him in manhood, marriage, and fatherhood. This special relationship strengthened DeJuan's resolute beliefs and principles of being family oriented. Of all of Dejuan's accomplishments and accolades, DeJuan took the most pride in his family and being a father. DeJuan once again followed in the footsteps of his older brother, Darrell by garnishing a career within the United States Postal Service. Dejuan was often referred to as "half of the Henderson Splash Brothers "among the Kansas City Postal service community due to his uncanny physical resemblance to his older brother's physical appearance and strong work ethic as well. DeJuan was earnest worker, who believed in efficiency, fidelity, and transparency. When DeJuan was not earnestly working within the postal service, DeJuan enjoyed watching sports and was devout Kansas City Chiefs fan. Outside of being a chief's fan DeJuan enjoyed watching basketball with his mother Norma. Norma and DeJuan often playfully debated and analyzed basketball statistics as if it were their own personal ESPN Sports Center. DeJuan adored and cherished his mother, Norma. Norma and her Baby Boy had very playful and loving mother- son bond. DeJuan and Norma would often spend hours in conversation receiving her motherly guidance on how to navigate life's challenges and triumphs. DeJuan also enjoyed spending his time engaging in physical activity and adopted vegan lifestyle where DeJuan would not hesitate at the opportunity to enlighten his loved ones of the benefits of living a health conscience lifestyle. DeJuan was also a deeply spiritual man with a strong faith in God. In the late hours, of August 7, 2022 God called DeJuan to be met in loving angelic arms of his Big Mama and beloved cousin Ricky. DeJuan was a man of principle and honor; DeJuan had a spirit coated in platinum, a heart made of gold, a mind sharpened by iron and a spine forged in steel. DeJuan will be deeply missed by an entire tribe of family, his "Band of Brothers, and the Kansas City, MO Postal service community. He leaves to cherish his memory wife Denise Henderson, children: DeJuan Ray Henderson jr, DeSean Ray Henderson & Destiny RayShawn Henderson, his mother: Norma Denise Ennis, brothers Darrell Ray Henderson, Kenneth Cheadle and Steve Thomas, Brother-in-law Lynell Diggs, Sister-in-law Darrisha L Wyatt Mother-in-law Fredericka Wyatt, and a host of family and friends.
