Demetria L. Milligan, 65 of Kansas City, Missouri passed away January 10, 2024.

Demetria was born to Marva Brannock in Kansas City Missouri. She was preceded in death by family members Latonya Welch, Stephen Welch, Cloteal Welch, and John Welch Sr.

She attended Southeast High School where she was an avid marching band member playing the flute. Graduated in 1976 and she would later attend Park University and obtain her bachelor's degree in business management, master's in human resources, and master's in project management.

Demetria started her career at Lake City Ammunition Plant in 1985 as an ammunition packer and would retire in 2014 as the head of Human Resources.

She granted employment opportunities within our community and opened doors for minorities to obtain lifelong careers.

She was a role model for her children and many others serving as a coach on multiple community and AAU leagues (Amateur Athletic Union).

Demetria was a shining star with a warm personality, and she would quickly turn strangers into friends. She enjoyed traveling, reading, being with family, and making memories, a grandmother that blessed the lives of her grandchildren in so many ways.

Demetria loved to praise the lord! Her faith and belief in God's love comforted her until the end.

Demetria leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Marva Brannock; son, Brandon Jones; daughter, Tiffany Olivas, Aunt, Melba Underwood and family, uncle, John Welch III and family, grandchildren Elias Lidge, Greyson Lidge, Charlee Lidge, Avonni Jones, Emery Jones, many other relatives, and friends.
