Dennis Charles Hines ,64, was born on February 3, 1956 in Shaw, Mississippi to the union of Anderson (Pug) ; Ruth Hines. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Dyaan Hines (Kansas City, MO) and brother Charlie Dorsey (Chicago, IL).At an early age Dennis's family moved to Kansas City, Missouri.

He attended various Kansas City Public Schools before enrolling in Job Corps where he earned his GED and became a Journeyman Carpenter. Dennis was well known for his carpentry skills and worked on various commercial and private projects throughout the city. He was very creative and truly a "jack of all trades". He has probably done small projects or worked on the homes of many of you in this chapel. Back in the day Dennis was an avid lover of roller skating and shooting pool. He frequented the well-known city roller rinks formally known as "Rhythm Lanes" and "CoachLite Skate Center" and played pool at the hall located on 39th Woodland.

Dennis went to be with our Lord and Savior on May 24, 2020 at his home.He leaves to cherish his memory and mourn his passing: one daughter Chrishone D.Hines, Kansas City, MO, one grand-daughter Kayla E. Hines, Kansas City, MO; seven brothers Lavon, Melvin, Eric all of Kansas City,MO, Terry (Theresa) Oklahoma City,OK, Andrew Hatley, MN, Lee Hatley FL, Eugene Dorsey of Chicago, IL; four sisters,Delores Hines of Kansas City, MO, Mary Alice Peacock (Jack), Mary Alice Dorsey, Lorestine Frederick all of Chicago, IL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
