Denorvard Earnest Reed, known by "Dee Reed" was born the first child and only son of Louis A. Reed & Barbara Jean Reed-Watson on October 22, 1959. Both parents, his grandparents, James &Tressie Boggess, Lewis & Idalue Reed and Denorvard & Dorothy Reed-Muse, one uncle James "Bunny" Reed, his great grandfather, Earnest Menifee, one brother, James "Rem" Colbert, two sisters, Tanya L. Colbert, Lois Reed all preceded him in death.
"Dee" was educated within the Kansas City School Missouri District, until he moved to California with his older brother Louis T. Reed and received his High School Diploma.
As "Dee" life journey began his first son, Louis James Reed was born and later his second son, Martell Gerome Reed was born.
"Dee" married Deborah A. Cubit on May 11, 2002 until his passing.
"Dee" worked as a forklift driver for many years with his most recent employer being Harley Davidson before leaving Kansas City October 2019, and moving to Eldorado, Arkansas where he was diagnosed with Lung Cancer.
"Dee" moved back to Kansas City on February 14, 2020 to live out the rest of his life with family, whom he loved above anyone or anything.
"Dee's" legacy He was known as a fun loving person and was also care free who was the life of any party. He always hung the older around the generation as a youngster, until the last of the OG's passed away.
We all know in having a legacy, we leave something of value to others..."Dee's" legacy were two particular phrases that we can all take with us; one "That's how lies get started" and "It don't look good".
"Dee" departed this life on Friday, March 13, 2020 at K. C. Care Center.
"Dee leaves to cherish his memory: loving wife, Deborah Cubit Reed; two sons, Luis J. Reed of Lincoln, NE and Martell J. Reed of Alpharetta, GA; four sisters, Darlene Reed-Cherry, Deann Reed, Marion Reed and Regina Colbert-Steward; three brothers, Louis T. Reed, Anthony D. Colbert and Darryl S. " Baby" Colbert; two grandchildren, Ah'marie and Rhyan Reed; special cousins, Joycelon Sapho, Patricia "Patty Ann" Edgar, Lional "Lonnie" Boggess and Herman L. "Chucky " Boggess Jr; his closes friends, Gregory and Stanley Minor; a host of nephews, nieces other relatives and friends.
Funeral services Saturday, March 21, at 12:00 pm at St. James United Methodist Church Renaissance Campus. Interment XII Gates Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation 11:00 am-12:00 pm at the church. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences maybe shared on our website.
