Deontae L.D. Campbell, 17, was born October 17, 2001 in Kansas City, Missouri to Territa Smith and Charles L. Campbell III. He was preceded in death by his father; great-great grandfather, Kenneth Walker; great grandmother, Rosie Smith; grandfather, Thomas E. Brown and brother, Darrious Smith.

Known as "Deontae Labontae" as a child, he was educated in the Grandview School District and was currently attending Ruskin High School.

Deontae was always content as long as he had his video games, his favorite being Grand Theft Auto. He also enjoyed riding around "chilling" with his cousins. He was very protective of them.

Deontae was very loving to everyone he came in contact with and shared a special bond with his mom, dad and big brother, He was goofy and silly at times. He spent his summers in Los Angeles with his family. He was always looking out for others and being the sweetheart that he was, he always had a hug for you and lots of love to give.

Deontae departed this life on April 6, 2019. He was truly loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Territa Smith; grandparents, Johnny and Patricia Smith, Joy Campbell and Charles Campbell, Jr.; great grandfather, Emerson Smith; extended grandparents, Anthony and Angie Jenkins, and Krisandra Harrison; and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, God-parents, other relatives and friends.
