Derrick Deron Pennie, 30, passed away on July 3, 2019 at North Kansas City Hospital. He was born on April 15, 1989 in Kansas City, Missouri to Cherrita Pennie. He was preceded in death by his great-great grandparents, John and Willie Roach; great grandmother, Rita Roach; grandmother, Charlotte Dawson; one great uncle and three great aunts.

Derrick accepted Christ at an early age. He received his education in the Kansas City, Missouri Public School District.

Derrick had a heart of gold and loved his family. He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Andrea Brown Pennie; children, Derrick Jr., Prince Derrick, Aruther, Ramira, Zeek and A'mya; mother, Cherrita Pennie; siblings, Eric S. Pennie, Margo Pennie, Danielle Pennie and Destancey Pennie; uncle, Chauncey Dawson (Michele); aunt, Lawaynta Dawson; great aunts, Mary Marllard, Carol Ellis, Linda Roach and Lenora Roach; two nephews, three nieces and a host of other family and friends.
