Desmond Antonyo Jenkins, 28, KCMO, passed away on September 4, 2016. He was born December 12, 1987 in Kansas City, Missouri to Desmond Johnson and Yvette Jenkins. His father preceded him in death. Desmond was educated in the public schools of Kansas City, Missouri and attended Border Star Elementary and Central High School. Desmond had a cheerful spirit and always jokingly expressed a beautiful smile earning him the nickname 'Sunny'. He loved and his family dearly, and shared a special relationship with his mother who he checked on regularly. He leaves to cherish his memory his parents, Yvette and Daniel Johnson; brothers, Daniel Johnson, Jr., David Jenkins and Mickey McMillian; sisters, Erica Jenkins, Ramzey Jenkins and Antionette Buffington; grandmothers, Brenda Jenkins and Lela Williams; uncles, Howard Bettis and Bruce Hodge; aunts, Latonya Jenkins and Kim Jenkins; cousins, Mathan Jenkins, Takila Jenkins, Myeisha Jenkins, Rachelle Jenkins and Shonda Jenkins; Godmothers, Rita Fugate and Barbara Bivens; a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 17, 11:00 a.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Private disposition. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the chapel.
