Obituary

Desota Adams AKA, Big Daddy passed away Thursday, October 20, 2022 at Wilshire Nursing Home in Lee's Summit, Missouri.

Desota was born January 7, 1930, to Bonnie and Marietta Adams in Trenton, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his father Bonnie and mother Marietta, his wife Laverne Adams, three sisters: Marine Bowers, Jewel Vinson, and Ruth Adams, and two sons: Ray Adams and Dexter Adams.

He attended the Trenton Public School System and graduated from Rosenwald High School.

Desota served 4 years in the United States Army which included being stationed in Germany. He moved to Kansas City, Missouri and became a bus operator for the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA) where he worked from 1970 to 1995 where he retired.

Desota loved to socialize, attend class / family reunions, card parties, visiting longtime friends, no matter who he knew he always stayed connected. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).

Desota also loved traveling, watching Family Feud, Wheel of Fortune, old western movies, and was an avid sports fan of the Kansas Chiefs, Royals, and The Kansas City Kings. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).

He leaves to cherish his memories three sons: Eric (Shelly) Adams, Blue Springs, MO., Todd (Shalonda) Adams, Topeka, KS, Chlorita (James) Conner, Jackson, TN., Barbra (Michael) Thompson, Detroit, MI., and Jerry Johnson, Trenton, TN., stepdaughter Carol Davis of Kansas City, MO and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
