Deveon Earl Edwards, 17, was born on August 1, 2002 to Douglas Edwards, Jr. and Talesha Currie in Kansas City, Missouri. He was later adopted by his paternal aunt, Tiffany Johnson.

Deveon was a lifelong area resident and was educated in the Kansas City public schools. He was a graduate of ARC School. He was employed at McDonald's and later at Quik Trip.

Deveon had dreams of being a designer one day. He loved drawing, dancing, playing video games, basketball and making people laugh.

He departed this life on Wednesday, June 17, 2020.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his father, Douglas Edwards, Jr.; mothers, Tiffany Johnson (adoptive), Talesha Currie (Bio); five brothers, Jason Edwards, Kevon Powell, Ty'Juan Conway, Treyvion Hill and Douglas Edwards III; three sisters, Dajia Conway, DaZhane Edwards and Amirah Johnson; paternal grandfather, Douglas Edwards, Sr.; paternal grandmother, Renita Johnson; maternal grandmother, Gwendolyn Currie; three uncles, Toeby Johnson, Duane Currie and Leonard Locke, Jr.; one aunt, Colette Grant, a host of cousins other relatives and friends.
