Dorothy Evelyn
Agee
May 10, 1940 — Jul 17, 2023
Dorothy Evelyn Agee, 83, left us on July 19, 2023, with her family by her side in Overland Park, KS. Dorothy was born on May 10, 1940, in Springfield, MO.
She leaves behind to grieve: her husband, Wendell Agee, children Steven Agee of Chicago, IL, Damon Agee of Overland Park, KS and Margo Carter of Lee's Summit, MO. James Edgar Pasley who preceded her in death. Her grandchildren Candace Cummings (Elmer Smith) of Lee's Summit, MO, James Pasley Jr. of Lenexa, KS, Gary Pasley of Kansas City, MO and DeMarchelle Harvey of Lee's Summit, MO. Great grandchildren Perry Lee Thorpe III, Courtney Lea Thorpe (Marquan Hughes), Isreal McElwain, Kelvin Foster, four great great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Dorothy, as many called her, lived a good life. She owned and operated the Agee's Day Care of Overland Park, KS from 1979 until her passing. She molded many lives and afforded many children a good and solid foundation.
She loved being the matriarch of her family. When she wasn't caring for others, she enjoyed traveling, spending time at the casino, and completing all types of puzzles that challenged her inquisitive mind. Full of life, she enjoyed listening to music; especially, blues and was known to bust a move.
She was a member of several clubs including American Business Women's Association, Easter Star Association, Stewardess Board, Faithful Member Quarter, and the Conference Choir.
Dorothy was very devoted to her family and friends and always sought the very best for them. As a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt, she shared unlimited love with each of them. Memories of her life, love, friendliness, kindness, and devotion will remain with us to comfort and inspire.
We praise God for her wonderful gift of life that has touched us in many ways. She will be dearly missed but dearly remembered.
