Dorranna Shaffer, 87, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2019 at Carondelet Nursing Home in Kansas City, Missouri. Mrs. Shaffer was born July 5, 1932 to parents Howard A. and Connill Payne, in Charlotte, South Carolina. She lived in Detroit Michigan and Battle Creek Michigan prior to being a resident of the Greater Kansas City, Missouri area for many years. She attended and graduated from Cass Technical High School in Detroit.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son; Nazim Walter Shaffer, daughter; Karleah C. Dixon, grandson; A'Donus Dixon, granddaughter; LaQuanda R. Thomas, and brother-in-law; Thomas Minor.

After relocating to Kansas City, Mrs. Shaffer attended Penn Valley Community College, graduating as a licensed practical nurse and had a very successful career as a surgical nurse at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

Dorranna leaves to cherish her memory: sons; Reaford C. Shaffer, II and Thomas H. Shaffer, (Vernessa), step-daughter; Gayle L.(Shaffer) Richberg, (Ralph), sister; Arleathier Minor, 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great -grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
