Dorron Lee
Blackmon
Mar 24, 1985 — Mar 11, 2017
Dorron Lee Blackmon, 31, passed away on March 11, 2017 at Research Medical Center. He was born March 24, 1985 in Kansas City, Missouri to Freddie Lee Blackmon, Jr. and Twonta Yvonne Brown. He was preceded in death by his father; Freddie Lee Blackmon, Jr.; grandfather, Samuel L. Brown; grandmother, Laura Faye Blackmon; and brother, Marcus Fowler. Dorron was educated in the public schools of Kansas City, Missouri. He was employed with Focus Workforce Services, Inc. until his passing. Dorron accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior on October 5, 2016 and was a member of United Believers Community Church. Dorron was engaged to be married to Tanika Judie on May 17, 2017. He was a loving father and dedicated to going above and beyond for all six of his children. In his younger years he developed a love for music and would be joined with his brothers to form a rap group called, 'Skrilla Gettaz', from which he became known as 'Breadhead'. Dorron was known as a man of integrity. His children and his family was everything to him. He always cared about the wellbeing of others, never wanting to see the ones he loved fall on hard times. He enjoyed hanging out with the men of the family as well as his 'Day 1' brothers, sharing a strong unbreakable bond with his brothers, cousins, and uncles up until the day he went on to be with his father in heaven. Dorron cared very much about the up keep of his appearance and always smelled as fresh as he looked. He enjoyed a good meal as long as you would make his plate. He loved eating candy and sunflower seeds. Dorron found pleasure in hopping inside a new whip when he felt like it. He made sure that he himself and everyone else gave his mothers the utmost respect, as he was overly protective of them as well as his sisters, nieces and nephews. He maintained that respect with his aunts and uncles, and would show up to every family function. Dorron had a smile to remember and a distinctive laugh that can't be forgotten. If he were still here today and able to say 'good-bye', he would want it to be known that he loved each of us, that he's at peace and that he'll 'See you in a minute'. Dorron leaves to cherish his memory: his children, Za'Naeyah Blackmon, DaMya Bradley, Ar'Terion Judie, Anton Hill, Aerin Johnson, and Alece Hill; his mother, Twonta McKeithen (Reginald); step-mother, Kimberly Blackmon; grandmother, Carolyn Brown; brothers, Christopher Durant, Jarron Landis and DeAnder Freeman; sisters, Asia Brown, Tierra McCarty, Marquita Fowler, Angie Fowler, Chasidy Hutton and Kimberly Hutton; step-brothers, Reggie McKeithen (Kimberly) and Reneil McKeithen (Sheka); fiancé, Tanika Judie; God-brother, Malcolm Guess; God-sister, Shantel Britt; God-daughters, Anilyah Jones and Kamiylah Jones; a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 18, 12:00 p.m. at United Believers Community Church. Interment XII Gates Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the church. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
