Obituary

Tina Berry (Earnestine Berry) was born on April 16, 1941, to proud parents Joe Watson and Victoria Tyson-Watson in Texarkana, Arkansas. She was educated in the public school system of Texarkana and later made Kansas City, Missouri, her home. Tina was full of life, humor, and warmth—she never met a stranger and had a special gift for making everyone feel welcomed. Her love for playing cards, enjoying trips to the casino, and spending time with friends and family brought her endless joy. Tina was a devoted member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church and a deeply spiritual woman who carried her faith in all aspects of her life.

One of Tina's most beloved qualities was her ability to give everyone she loved a unique nickname—a term of endearment that only she could use. She had a way of making people feel special and treasured, and her sense of humor was unmatched.

Tina leaves to cherish her memory her loving daughter, Ruby ("My One and Only, Jaz") Watson; and her adoring grandchildren: Ramon ("Ol' Boy") (Nikita, "Cutie Pie") Watson, Ebony ("Lil Sugar") (Joseph, Sr., "Joe-Joe DiMaggio") Cunningham, and Cher'ron ("My Queen") Barney. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Ramon ("Cool Breeze") Johnson, Armani Williams, Jada ("Jada Boo") Chase, Rai'mon ("Granny's Boy, Renegade") Watson, Sahron Cunningham, Mone't ("Chocolate") Watson, Joseph ("Fatt Man") Watson, Chaz Watson, Aurii ("Pretty Girl") Jones, Casch ("Mr. Cash Man") Jones, Rayn Watson, and Caise ("The King") Jones. She was also blessed with 18 great-great-grandchildren.

She is lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews: Frances White, Allene ("Lena") Watson, Rodney (Pam) Watson, Arthur Jackson, Byron Howard, Marva Green, Angela Beck, and Lisa; and her great-nieces and nephews, including Kenitra Hayes and Tommy White and 14 great-great nieces and nephews and 9 great-great-great nieces and nephews.

Close Friends: Ellen Marie Hayslip; Sheila (My BFF, Tramp) Coppage; Tawanna (Tee) Boles; Ada (Geisha) Shearlin (Sister), John (Elder) Evans; Sharon (Dumplins); Rob Dogg and Rickey Smith (My Knights) and a host of cousins.

Tina was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Victoria Tyson-Watson, and her beloved siblings.

Tina Berry's life was a testament to love, laughter, and the bonds of family and friendship. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. She may be gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
