Earl Eugene Guess was born July 13th, 1930, in Luther, Oklahoma. The 1st of 7 children born to Ophelia and Esque Henry Guess. Earl moved to Kansas City, Missouri when Earl was a child and attended Kansas City, Missouri public schools and graduated from the RT Coles vocational high school Brick Mason program. Earl was called to service during the Korean war for the US Army from 1951 through 1953. Earl successfully started and managed his own business for many years the "Guess Masonry Construction Company" until retirement. Earl's lifelong masonry work was highly requested for its stellar design, integrity and finish and his work is on display all across the Kansas City area. Earl enjoyed reading, music, photography and was a loving husband and father. Earl was truly a righteous and truthful man who also loved the Lord. Earl was married for 50 years to Nettie Ruth Miles who preceded him in death 2006. That union produced 5 children. He is also preceded in death by his daughter Carmen M. Guess 2007, brothers Milton Guess, Wendell Guess, and sister Annetta Guess Moon. Earl leaves behind cherished memories to his daughter Gwendolyn Guess Williams (Earl), sons Leslie Vincent Guess, Prentice Miles Guess (Deborah), and Marcus Sean Guess (Shonte'); brothers Henry Guess Jr., Londell Guess; sister Sandra Guess Brown, 5 grandchildren, 8 great- grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors Chapel. Interment Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS.
