Obituary

Earl A. Washington "Lil Cooter" , 68 of Kansas City, MO passed away Saturday, May 26, 2021. E-5 SGT. Earl A. Washington "Lil Cooter" was born May 3, 1953 to Verties P. Frazier and Edicott "Cooter Washington in Gould, Arkansas. He was one of 16 children; 9 of whom along with his mother and father preceded him in death. Earl, early in life accepted Christ as his personal savior. He was baptized at Bailey Chapel United Methodist Church in Gould, Arkansas under the leadership of Rev. G. G. Troupe. He was educated at Gould School in Gould, Arkansas. He worked in an afterschool program where he was a custodian. Later he worked a short time at T.M. Fish Grocery Store in Gould, Arkansas. Earl later joined the U.S. Marine Corps , where he was promoted Sergeant and Drill Instructor. He achieved many honors and awards: the Good Conduct Medal-received twice, Rifle Sharpshooter Badge, Pistol Marksman Badge, and the National Defense Service Medal. He also served a short time in Vietnam. He was stationed in California at Camp Pendleton and was Honorably Discharged in 1978. After he left the Marine Corps he relocated to Kansas City, Missouri where he worked as a private contractor. He worked all over Kansas City doing construction and remodeling homes. He always liked to tinker with vehicles and electronics. He was very artistic in so many ways: from drawing to taking just about anything and making it useful. Earl never met a stranger or missed an opportunity to crack a joke or two. Earl will be truly missed by many. He leaves to cherish precious memories the loves of his life: Mildred Nichols Washington and Donnette Bell Washington. These unions produced four sons: Derrick Washington, Earl Washington Jr., Andre' Washington, and Willie Bell Washington. Two daughters: Nicole Horton and Aisha Shaw. 18 Grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, three brothers: Leroy( Lee Ester) Smith, Gould, Ark., Charles Washington, Pine Bluff, Ark., and Stanley Rucker of Atlanta, Georgia. Three sisters: Rosann W. (Arthur Lee) Bradley and Patricia A. Washington of Gould, Ark., Eddie Mae Washington of Pine Bluff, Ark and a hose of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A special sister-in-law Ms. Phyllis Frazier. Visitation will be held June 2, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. -8:00 p.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors Chapel. Graveside service June 3rd at 9:00 a.m., Leavenworth National Cemetery. Service provided by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors
