Obituary

Edward William Guinn Sr. was born March 17, 1942 in Ozark, Arkansas and he was the only child of Ruby Viola and Eddie Polo Guinn. He was preceded death by his parents and step-father, Boyd Ramsey.

Edward attended Booker T. Washington and D.A. Holmes Elementary School. He then attended Central Junior and Central Senior High School. After completing his education, he proudly served in the United States Air Force

Later, Edward met the love of his life, Johnella Edgerson. He and Johnella married in 1964 and were blessed with 3 children: Eddie Jr., Maquita and Tiffany. His wife Johnella also preceded him in death. He was also blessed with another son Kahlil Guinn. Edward worked as a computer programmer for many years and retired from Sony Corporation. Through the years, he mentored many youths at Argentine Youth Services, church and many of his children's friends.

He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, cousin, uncle, and friend. Edward never met a stranger, and he loved playing games, (i.e. card games, Dominos, connect 4 and Scrabble, to name a few). When he discovered Facebook, he kept in touch with his family and friends by sending frequent messages.

Edward accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at St. Stephen Baptist Church where he attended as a child. Later in his life he joined and faithfully served at Salem Baptist Church for many years before moving his membership to Greater Pentecostal Temple (GPT). There he served faithfully as a Deacon and on various boards and committees. He loved GPT and served until he was no longer able.

Edward leaves to cherish his memory his children, Eddie Guinn Jr. (Felicia) of McKinney,Tx; Maquita Wells (Clayton) of Kansas City, KS; Tiffany Addison (George) of Kansas City, KS; Kahlil Guinn of Kansas City, KS; an uncle Isaac Guinn Los Altos, CA; 28 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, December 11, 2020 at 10 am - 12 pm, at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors Chapel. Interment Leavenworth National Memorial Cemetery. Virtual service Saturday, December 12, at 11:00am. ZOOM LINK: Condolence and video tributes one minute or less, submit to DEADLINE December 7, 2020. MONETARY DONATIONS $BBQCHEF.
