Obituary

Elbert Henderson, 74, passed away on August 12, 2016. He was born January 13, 1942 in Kansas City, Missouri to the late Mary Henderson and Mr. Pearson. His mother; father; step-father, Earl Bradshaw; brother, Merritt Tucker; sister, Earline Henderson and aunt, Glendora Henderson also preceded him in death. Elbert was educated in the public schools, attending Wendell Phillips Elementary and graduating from Lincoln High School. He furthered his education at the Kansas City Art Institute. Elbert served his country in the United States Air Force for four years. He later worked in the Health Department of City Hall in Kansas City, Missouri. After becoming a member of Bethel AME Church at an early age, he later sang with the Voices of Bethel for many years. He never wanted to miss the Sunday Church Service. He is survived by two brothers, Clarence Bradshaw and Darren Briscoe; cousins, Billy White, Otis Henderson and William Henderson; a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives, church family and friends. Memorial services will be Wednesday, August 24, 11:00 a.m. at Bethel A.M.E. Church. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
