Elder James Coleman Williams Jr. "Little Chops" was born November 08, 1937 to James Coleman Sr. & Rita Rainey Williams in Arkansas. James was the second to the oldest, of eight siblings. His childhood was spent in Arkansas & Kansas City, KS.
James graduated from Sumner High School in 1956. After high school, James became an Insurance Agent, and went on to work as a porter with Union Pacific Railroad, an X-ray technician with Stanford University in California. And later retired after working many years of construction.
James loved his children & his family. He was a hands-on father. He kept in close contact with each and of his children.
James was an adamant about telling others about the word of God. He was consistent about his love for the Lord and his belief in God's word. Whenever he showed up, everyone knew we would get a sermon about God's word. Two of his favorite scripture was Mathew 16:18 "And I say also unto thee, that thou art Peter: and upon this rock, I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it" & Romans 16:16 "Salute one another with a holy kiss. The Churches of Christ Salute you.
James was preceded in death by his mother and father, James Sr. & Rita Williams, his sister Jane Williams, his brother Clarence Williams, and his daughter I'Esha Williams.
James leaves to morn, his daughters, Barbara Bivens (KCMO), & Wendy Williams (STL, MO) and his son Terry Williams (Chandler) of Arizona, his beloved sisters, Elmarie Richardson (KCMO), Bird Williams (Indianapolis), 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, also host of nieces & nephews.
Services are Friday, January 22, 2021 at 11:00am at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors Chapel. Private Disposition. Visitation from 9am-11am. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences maybe shared on our website.
