Obituary

Eliza Mae Bussey, 81, passed away April 7, 2019 at Research Medical Center. She was born January 16, 1938 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Harford Belton and Minnie Lee (Anderson) Belton. She was the second oldest of seven siblings. Eliza is preceded in death by father Harford Belton, second-father Nathaniel Robinson, Sr., mother Minnie L. Robinson, and two brothers Charles Belton and Kenneth Robinson.

Eliza was ten years old when the family moved to Kansas City, Kansas. She received her education in the Kansas City, Kansas School District and graduated from Sumner High School.

As a young girl, Eliza accepted Christ and from that moment on she never stopped spreading God's word. Eliza was a faithful member of House of Refuge Family Worship Center for twenty-two plus years under the leadership of Pastor Lee Chester and Classie Brown. She was also a member of Pentecostal Church of God in Christ for several years where she served on the mother board.

Eliza loved the Lord and lived her life in such a way that everyone could see the love in her. She was known for her kind heart, beautiful spirit, and her encouraging words. She had a heart for helping others and was loved by all she came in contact with.

Eliza worked for the Kansas City, Missouri School District for many years before her retirement. She loved baking and developed her own clientele of customers. This prompted her to start "Mae's Rolls and More" which she continued until her health began to fail.

She leaves to cherish her memory: two sons, Robert Bussey (Linda) of Raytown, MO and Brian Bussey (Leslie) of Smyrna, GA; two daughters, Carlotta Maria Burt of Grandview, MO and Carmen Elaine Canady (Ben) of Raymore, MO; two brothers, Raymond Robinson and Nathaniel Robinson (Anna) both of Leavenworth, KS; two sisters, Regina T. Jarrett of Kansas City, MO and Alicia F. Nevels (Myron) Olathe, KS; ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, special friend Pastor Classie Brown-Hill, special caregivers from Life Care of Grandview, and a host of other relatives and friends.
