Obituary

Elizabeth (Liddy) Scales, 54, was called from labor to reward on Wednesday,

November 4, 2020, at Center Point Medical Center in Independence, MO. She was born at 1:30 am on July 4, 1966 at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis MO, the daughter of Herman and Patricia (Williams) Scales. Due to a clerical error her official birth date was recorded as July 3rd. Nevertheless, she celebrated her birthday on July 4th throughout her life and her parents called her their "Fourth of July Baby". She was the oldest child of three. She is preceded in death by her grandparents William & Katie B. (Walls) Scales, and Carl & Atheldra Williams. Liddy attended Berkley High School in St. Louis, MO and later, National American University in Kansas City, MO.

After high School, Liddy worked several years at St. Louis Children's Hospital with her mother.

In the mid 1990's she moved from St. Louis, MO to Germantown, MD to be closer to her father. There she worked for several department stores as a cashier and sales clerk. She was a member of Victory Christian Church in Gaithersburg, MD under Pastors Dwayne & Kitt Brewington. There she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior.

In the late 90's Liddy moved to Kansas City, MO to work for her father's home health company. Years later she accepted a position to work at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, MO.

Liddy was a long time, faithful member of Seed of Faith International in Raytown, MO where her father is the Senior Pastor. Liddy served as the Multimedia Ministry Director for several years. Liddy's hobbies included baking and collecting dolls. She also enjoyed watching horror and animated movies. She leaves to cherish her memory her father, Pastor Herman J. Scales of Independence MO; Mother, Patricia Scales of Independence, MO; Step-mother, Myra Scales of Independence, MO; Brother, Herman D. (Samantha) Scales of Salem, OR; Sister, Christina Scales of Overland Park, KS; Nieces & Nephews: Ashlee Richardson, Domonick Scales, Taylor Scales, Brandy Scales, Victoria Scales and Charles Scales; Great Nieces & Nephews: Jorrell Scales, Jalynn Scales, Linh Lohnes, Avah Scales, and a host of uncles, aunts, and cousins. Liddy will be missed by church family, Seed of Faith International, co-workers and friends. She will be especially missed by her best friends Sharon Henry & Vanessa Buckner.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 20, 2020 at 11:00 am at Connection Point Church Chapel. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation 10 am - 11 am at the church. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
