Elizabeth M.
Turner
Jun 18, 1943 — Mar 19, 2019
Ms. Elizabeth Mae Turner, 75, was born June 18, 1943 in Kansas City, Missouri to the late Lizzie Mae and Edward Coffey, Sr. Elizabeth was eldest child of six from this union. In her early years she gave her life to Christ and tried to live each and every day as the Lord saw fit.
Elizabeth continued to practice these teaching under the guidance of Bishop Daniel Jordan at Pentecostal Church of God in Christ and later continued those teachings with Pastor Hurley with Jewish Geriatric Rehabilitation Nursing Home, whose name later changed in the 90's to Salon Geriatric Nursing Home. Elizabeth had worked for both employers in the field of Nursing for over 45 years. During her tenure she received several certificates and awards receiving the highest award possible in 1996, The SGC Lifetime Achievement Award from S.G.N.H.
In Elizabeth's past time she enjoyed playing cards, fishing, and watching any kind of sports with the Kansas City Royals being her favorite. In her eyes the Royals were always a winning team no matter what their record showed. Ms. Elizabeth loved her family and friends unconditionally and she never met a person who she didn't befriend. She had a huge loving heart and shared it with any and everyone she came in contact with. Even as she became ill and had to relocate to Blue River Nursing Home, she still touched the lives of the workers, residents, and never stopped helping up until her final days. There's no measure to the amount of lives that were touched, effected and loved by Elizabeth. Her spirit will truly be missed.
Ms. Elizabeth departed this life on March 19, 2019 at Redwood of Blue River Care Center. She was preceded in death by both parents, one sister Helen Jackson, and a brother, Edward Coffey, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters, Glenda Everette (Dennis) of Kansas city, MO and Michelle Chinneth of Las Vegas, NV; a brother, John Coffey; two sisters, Laura Golden and Sadie Coffey; two grandchildren, Durand Everette (Frenza) and Danielle Plummer; seven great grandchildren, Imani, Tyree, Asha, Favian, Faith, Durand Jr. and Dennis Charles Everette; two nephews, Darnell Coffey and Edward Booth; two nieces, Danise Jackson and Willetta Coffey; two special God-daughters, Shirley Davis and Gina Jones; and a host of other relatives and friends. Elizabeth Mae Turner will sadly be missed but never forgotten. We look forward to reuniting with you again in God's paradise.
