Ella Mae Rogers, 63, was born December 21, 1953 in Kansas City, Missouri to Leroy Sr. and Pauline (Sutherlin) Adams. Her father and a brother, Leroy Adams, Jr. preceded her in death. Ella was educated in the public schools of Kansas City, Missouri and attended Southeast High School. She worked in retail for a number of years. Ella enjoyed living life to the fullest, spending time with family and entertaining others. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to many. Her smile, laughter and love for life will always be remembered and cherished in the hearts of those who loved her. Ella departed this life on July 9, 2017 at St. Joseph Medical Center. She leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Nicole Rogers and Kevin Rogers I; mother, Pauline Adams; three brothers, Mickey Sutherlin (Aurelia), Charles Sutherlin and Robert Adams (Stephanie); three sisters, Billie Jean Williams (Thee), Linda Clark (Tony) and Tina Judie (Bobbie); five grandchildren, Michael Mims, Sr., Nicolas Rogers, Kevin Rogers II, Diona Mims and Kiona Rogers; three great grandchildren, Ta'Niyah Nelson, Michael Mims, Jr. and Camron Nelson; fiancé, William Wilcox, Sr.; God-children, De'Jaune Louis and William Louis (Jasmine); a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 19, 11:00 a.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Private disposition. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the chapel.
