Obituary

Ellen Pearl Jasper passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 1st, 2022. Ellen was born December 28th, 1936, in Macon, TN to mother and father Cassie and Isaac Wilson. At 19, she moved to Kansas City where she married her late husband Sherline Jasper in October of 1957. She was a mother to 2 children David and Chequita Jasper, and to her niece Martha Jean Hoover, who she raised starting from the age 6. Ellen always made time for everyone despite her large family. She always provided support and love for her family. She worked tirelessly to provide opportunities for her children and grandchildren. She would proudly boast about all their accomplishments. Ellen began her career working at Emery Byrd then went on to work at Rival Manufacturing Company. Eventually, she ended her career at the Hilton Hotel in Kansas City where she made countless, lifelong friendships. She had great relationships with her siblings and loved them dearly. They could always expect a call from "Sista" checking in on them. Ellen grew up in the Baptist church and continued to stay a faithful servant of the Lord throughout her life. Ellen was a beloved member of Wright Memorial Church of God in Christ for 34 years. She cherished the Lord and her church family was very close to her heart. Her life was an example of Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 – "And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God forgave you in Christ" Ellen was proceeded in death by her husband of 48 years Sherline Jasper, her mother and father, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. She leaves to cherish her son, David Jasper, niece, Martha Jean Hoover, sisters: Cloteal Leathers, Betty Long, Allean Eubanks, brother, Jefferson Wilson, 8 grandchildren: Ashley, Anjelica, Christopher, Sean, Angela, Jeremy, Hannah, Cooper, 8 great-grandchildren, and several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. You were loved by all and will be missed by many!
