Obituary

Elmer Bryant, Jr., 71, affectionately known as 'June Bug', was born July 3, 1945 to Velma and Elmer Bryant, Sr. in Kansas City, Missouri. He was preceded in death by both parents; his brother Rudolph, and sister Sandra. Elmer was educated in the Kansas City, Missouri school district and later obtained a GED. He was a dedicated employee of Hallmark Cards, The State of Missouri and Sebree Gallery. On October 12, 1968, Elmer married Dorothy (Paul) Bryant and to their union two children were born. Many who know Elmer knew of his avid love for jazz music, family and anything related to his grandchildren as he was their biggest cheerleader. Elmer was the epitome of 'cool' and lived his life that way, always reciting one liners to keep you on your feet. Elmer departed this earthly life on August 4, 2016 at his home. He was a pillar of strength in his family and will be greatly missed. He leaves to cherish his memory: three children, Damon (Alisa), Dana and Terri; five grandchildren, Davin, Dymon, Blair, Joshua and Terren; siblings Constance, Joyce and Mitchell, special friend, Betty Barnett; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be Thursday, August 11, 11:00 a.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
