Emma Miller was born on 10/13/1933 in Augusta, Arkansas to Othella Moore (Luster) & Fred Stewart. She was the only child of Othella, but the oldest of 8 children on her father's side, Freddy.
She is preceded in death by her maternal & paternal grandparents, her mother, Othella Luster, her father Fred Stewart, aunt, Ameka Moore (Jones), sister Brenda Gibson, brother, Dale Stewart, husband, Al Miller & Granddaughter Brenda E. Anderson.
She confessed to Christ in her early years and was a very strong woman of faith. Currently she was a member of Oasis Church formerly known as Zion Grove Baptist Church.
At 9, she relocated with her mother to her beloved hometown of Memphis, TN. "The Big M" what she affectionately called it. And longed to return there. There she developed a love of music. She took piano lessons and still, tickled those ivories, in the comfort of her home. Music was a major enjoyment to her, and she had a record collection that musical connoisseurs would envy. Her favorite artist was Otis Redding, Aretha Franklin and her hometown legend and friend, BB King. With her two daughters, Gwendolyn & Gladys relocated to Kansas City, MO. There she met her beloved husband Allen Miller, they were married up until his passing in 1997.
She leaves her siblings Annie Grace Boyd of Kansas City, KS; Geneva Stewart-Strickland (Leo) of Kansas City, MO; Veanna Shane of Lenexa, KS; Frank Ruben Stewart (Dianne) of Omaha, NE; Twila June Stewart-Miller of Los Angeles, CA. Her daughters Gwendolyn Ellis (Otis) of Freeman, MO; and Gladys White-Taylor (Norris) of Raytown, MO; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and additional family and friends.
Funeral Services are Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 10am. Graveside-Brooking Cemetery. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences maybe shared on our website.
