Eric Eugene Slater, 55, was born October 12, 1961 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Bernice (Williams) Slater; two brothers, David L. Grant and Clyde Perry, Jr.; and two sisters, Juanita Slater and Linda Slater. Eric received his education from Manual High School in the Kansas City Missouri School District. After high school his pursued his passion in auto mechanics, from which his was employed by Arnone's Car Care for over forty years. Eric departed this earthly life on May 30, 2017 in Dallas, Texas. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He leaves behind: his lifetime love, Jacqueline James; three children, Erica Slater, Eugenia Slater and Eric Slater, Jr.; one brother, James Slater; one sister, Lorene Guilbeaux; fifteen grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 24, 11:00 a.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Private disposition. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the chapel.
