Erma R.
Morgan
Jan 23, 1951 — Oct 3, 2017
Erma Ruth Morgan, 66, KCMO, was born January 23, 1951 in Marion, Arkansas to McKinley Sr. and Arnettie (Ratliff) Jones. She was preceded in death by her father, as well as two brothers, Clifton G. Jones and Dexter K. Jones; and a beloved niece, Charmaine French. Erma graduated from Manual Hugh School High School in 1969. She received a renewable four year scholarship to attend Rockhurst College, where she pursued a Bachelor's degree in Communications. Erma was employed by Southwestern Bell in her early years. She later began her career with the Kansas City, Missouri Fire Department. Erma was united in marriage to David Morgan, Jr. on March 24, 1984. She loved her family and a special place in her heart for family, children and close friends. She made it her duty and honor to car for all of her brother's children, especially Dana and Charmaine. Erma was kind and compassionate to anyone she could help. Her favorite bible verse was Isaiah 54:17, "No weapon formed against me shall prosper". Anyone that really knew her, knew she believed just that! Erma was diagnosed in May 2017 with Stage 4 Cancer, and just five short months later lost her fight. She departed this life on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at the home, to begin her life in heaven where she will reside eternally. She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, David Morgan, Jr.; brothers, McKinley Jones, Jr. (Kathleen) of Raytown, MO, Calvin L. Jones (Eddie), Michael A. Jones (Hattie) both of Kansas City, MO and Gary W. Jones (LaTonya) of Lawrence, KS; special niece, Dana R. French; a host of other relatives and good friends.
