Ernesto Gregory Edwards was born May 12, 1987 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Earnest and Vernita. He attended grades K-10th in Philadelphia and 11th and 12th in Olathe, Kansas.
Ernesto was an amazing person. He was always such a great son to his mother. He was the kind of person who helped anyone and everyone he could. Ernesto could light up every room with his infectious smile. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to share it with the world. If you were down or having a bad day, he could cheer you up whether it was with funny jokes or encouraging words. Ernesto was a wonderful brother and sibling as well. As a kid, he was easy going and got along with every kid he came across and was friends with everyone. Above all, Ernesto was a great father to his son. Spending time with his son was very important to him. From taking selfies, goofing around tickling games, getting father-son haircuts together, and going to the movies were all the things that brought joy to his life. There was nothing he wouldn't do for his son Tyler.
Ernesto had a passion and drive like no other. He was a hard worker at his job, while also putting so much time and hard work into his music career. He was like a teddy bear with a warm heart and gave great hugs. He has so much compassion for everyone and everything. He loved his family, friends and fans. Ernesto had a strong love music and it showed by how talented he was when he rapped and sang. He will continue to live on through his family, friends, fans and music forever. Ernesto was truly one of the best human beings to walk through this life and grace the stage.
Ernesto departed this life at the young age of 30, on May 1, 2018 at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his father Earnest, sister Earnesta, grandparents and other relatives.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his son, Tyler (Tylynn); mother, Vernita Edwards Lewis (James); brothers, Everritt (Janelle), Simon (Cynthia), Earnest Jr. (Mariah) Sharif; favorite aunt, Charlotte (Phillip); uncles, Freddie, Bruce, Maurice, Clarence, and Kenny; special cousin, Crystal the Rapper; special friends, Kathy J., Silvester, Kel, Geno, Seno, Daniel, Kevin, Capp, Stephen, Leory, Jamar and Beat; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services Saturday, May 12, at 11:00 a.m. at The Worship Center of KC - Lenexa, Kansas. Interment Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation Friday, May 11, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors and Saturday, May 12, from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the church. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
