Esther Jean Dean graced this earth on May 21, 1958 in Kansas City, Kansas and was born to John and Robertha Johnson. Esther was educated in the public schools of Kansas City, MO and graduated from Manual High School in 1976. She went on to graduate from Penn Valley Community College. For over 20 years, she worked professionally as a Parent Educator in Arkansas and Missouri. She also worked in different social work capacities as an advocate for women. Esther enjoyed shopping and was an avid reader. She flourished in the house of the Lord, attending Landmark International Deliverance & Worship Center where she served in the ushers' ministry. She was contagiously fun and loving, beautifully wise and spiritual, and unflinchingly giving and encouraging. Esther was a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, niece, and friend - the quintessential 'sister girl' - whose memory will forever live on in the hearts of all the many that she touched. Heaven regained another one of its precious jewels on June 6, 2016. She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Elder William Dean; one son, Levertes Ragland, Jr.; two stepsons, William Rubin Dean and Stephen Dean; three daughters, Eshe Faulcon (Tony), Shanika Jackson, and Lakitah Ragland; three grandsons, Rodney, Rashaad, and Jackson; two brothers, John and Robert; five sisters, Lula, Jettie, Peggy, Mildred, and Roberta; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends. Funeral services will be Thursday, June 16, 10:30 a.m. at New Landmark International. Interment Leavenworth National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church.
