Eugene "Dinky" Sherrils, 61, KCMO, passed away on January 29, 2018. He was born June 18, 1956 to the union of Leroy and Elizabeth Sherrils in Kansas City, Missouri. His parents and three nephews preceded him in death. Eugene was a lifelong area resident and was educated in Kansas City public schools. He accepted Christ at an early age at the Palestine Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev. Earl Abel. Eugene was employed by the City of Kansas City Water Services Department, retiring after fourteen years of service. He was skilled domino player in his pastime. Eugene was united in marriage to Cynthia Turner on February 15, 2013. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Cynthia Turner, Kansas City, MO; three daughters, Lachelle Dent of Pennsylvania, Ebonie Sherrils and Timika Sherrils both of Kansas City, MO; two stepchildren, Donnell Johnson and LaShonda Johnson both of Kansas City, MO; two brothers, Wardell Sherrils and Terrence Sherrils; five sisters, Beatrice Sanders, Germaine Taylor, Delores Sherrils, Frances Sherrils and Lola Sherrils; nine grandchildren, Daijha, Zyaire, Jase, Marisa, Charles, Drew, Elijah. Malik, Reign, along with three additional grandchildren; two great grandchildren, Kei'vian and Isaiah; and a host of nephews, nieces other relatives and friends.

Funeral services Saturday, February 10, 11:00 a.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Interment Blue Ridge Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the chapel. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
