Evelyn (Frazier) Campbell was born December 4, 1951 to the late Robert and Artie (Harris) Frazier, Sr. in Clarksdale, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Frazier, Jr.; sister, Bessie Frazier and two nephews, Carl W. Sims and Charles Johnson. Evelyn moved to Kansas City, Missouri in 1965. She accepted Christ at a young age and remained a Faithful member of Zion Grove Baptist Church until her passing. Evelyn was educated in the public schools of Kansas City, Missouri, graduating from Manual High School in 1970. There she met the love of her life, John M. Campbell, Jr. and to this union two sons were born, Charles and DuJuan. Evelyn was employed at Hallmark for thirty-six years, retiring in December 2008. Evelyn enjoyed gardening. and had a love for decorating. She was an avid sports fan who loved the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals and could often be found watching some type of sports event. Evelyn departed this earthly on March 22, 2016. at the Kansas City Hospice House. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and a wonderful sister and friend who will be sincerely missed. She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, John M. Campbell, Jr.; two sons, Charles Campbell and DuJuan Campbell; five sisters, Jessie Stewart, Willie Hamilton, Classie Ball, Martha Sims, and Edna Richardson (Frank); grandchildren, Ethan, Deresha, Eden and Shawnee; father-in-law, John Campbell; brothers-in-law, Alphonso Campbell (A.J.), Reginald Campbell, Robert Campbell, and Lynn Campbell (Connie); sisters-in-law, Wanda Bussey (Clarence), Michelle Bausby, and Gwen Campbell; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, church family and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 26, 1:00 p.m. at Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Interment XII Gates Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the church. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on this website.
