Obituary

Evern Ferrell-Franklin, 65 of Grandview, MO passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2021. Evern Ferrell-Franklin was born July 24, 1955 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to the late Leclede & Lula Ferrell. A selfless woman and rock of her family, she was the second of ten children. She graduated from Watson Chapel High School in Pine Bluff in 1973 where she was also a runner-up homecoming queen. Evern enlisted in the United States Army, serving as an Army nurse in 1984. Before being honorably discharged she achieved the rank of Sergeant. After leaving the military she moved to Kansas City, Missouri and spend over 20 years in the nursing field with such organizations as Rediscover, Truman Medical, the State of Missouri Department of Aging and RSI. Her preferred field turned out to be Psychiatric Nursing and she often referred to it as being "her calling". Evern left the Missouri Department of Aging to accept a position at RSI when the organization was in its' infant stage. She was instrumental in setting up many of the procedures for employee training and client care that are still used. Her ability to assess clients needs eventually led to her being promoted to the position of Clinical Care Coordinator which she held at the time of her illness. Evern received her wings Wednesday, July 7th. She was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Woodrow & Allie Mae Ferrell who helped raise her, brother Earnest Harris and grandparents Earnest & Doris Harris. She will be lovingly missed and remembered by her very supportive husband Rahn Franklin, Sr., who she met in 2009 and married July 23, 2011. From the day they met, Evern and Rahn had never been apart more than 6 days in a row.
