Obituary

On a warm summer evening at 5 PM June 8, 1999, a radiant soul was born in Lee Summit, Missouri, bringing joy and laughter to the lives of her parents, Lavern and Ronald Jr. Faith Lauren Hays, a remarkable young lady, has left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey on this Earth came to an end on August 26, 2023, as she transitioned on a new spiritual adventure with the Lord.

Faith's life was a tapestry of love, passion, and family. She was a proud graduate of Truman High School and also attended Herndon career center in Raytown, Missouri, where she pursued her passion in culinary arts. Her acceptance into Johnson Community College was a testament to her dedication and commitment to her craft. Cooking and baking were not just skills for her; they were her deepest passions, and her pot roast was legendary among those fortunate enough to savor it. She held a special place in her heart for the flavors of her native Guyanese cuisine.

But Faith's life was not just defined by her culinary talents. She was a music enthusiast and cherished spending quality time with her beloved niece Olivia. Faith's family was her anchor, and she radiated love, generosity, and kindness wherever she went. Her colorful personality brought a much unforgettable impression on all who crossed her path.

Faith's journey was marked by both joy and sorrow. She now joins her father and sister in eternal peace, along with her great-grandparents and great aunts and uncles. Faith found solace in her faith, and she was baptized at Harvest Baptist Church in Blue Springs, Missouri, where she cultivated a deep connection with the Lord.

She leaves behind a loving and devoted family who will forever cherish her memory. Her mother, Lavern her brothers, Dillion, Cameron, Darion and Ronald III along with her sisters, Savannah and Brittney nephews Khalil, DaeVion, Kedris, Louis and Gordon along with nieces Olivia, Layah, Nina and Janelle will always hold her close in their hearts. Faith is also survived by Aunts Rachelle, Monique, Melissa, Cristina and Brittney along with uncles Marvin, Jordan, Joslyn, Gavin, and Brandon. Her grandparents, Marcel Livingstone, Martin Fraser, Ronald Starks Sr., and Rachel Starks, shared in her joys and sorrows throughout her life.

As we say our earthly goodbyes to Faith, let us remember the comforting words of Psalm 23: "The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want... Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever."

In the memory of Faith Lauren Hays, let us celebrate a life well-lived, a heart full of love, and a spirit that will forever shine bright in our hearts. She has transitioned to her eternal journey, and though we grieve her absence, we find solace in the knowledge that she is now at peace in the loving embrace of the Lord. Faith's legacy of love and kindness will live on, guiding us through the valleys and mountains of life with the same grace and faith she embodied.
