Ferdinand Moore, 65, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2019 at the Veteran's Administration Medical Center. He was born on January 8, 1954 to the loving union of Willie Moore and Annie Lou (Young) Moore in Prairie, Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his by parents, one brother, Mitchell Moore and a sister, Georgia Chaney.
The family moved to the Kansas City area when he was six months old, from that time on he made Kansas City his home. He was educated in the Kansas City public schools until he enlisted in the U. S. Marine Corps. He was stationed in Okinawa, Vietnam and Camp Lejune, NC, where he received training and experience in driving commercial vehicles.
Ferdinand worked with various trucking companies, his greatest passion was driving big rigs over the road. He was employed with Mayflower Moving and Storage Company, where he received many commendations for his excellent customer service. He was a loving father to Curtis Moore and Vincent Tunley.
On October 7, 1991 he married the love of his life Charlotte Parks the two of them traveled over the road together working and seeing the United States until his early retirement.
Ferdinand enjoyed being a PaPaw and was hands on teacher to his grandchildren. He also loved the outdoors, gardening and tinkering with anything mechanical.
Ferdinand begin studying with Jehovah's Witnesses and was baptized on June 3, 1995, where he remained a faithful servant of Jehovah. This was his greatest joy to read the Bible and share the good news of God's Kingdom with others. He was a member of the Swope Park Congregation, Rockcreek Congregation and lastly with the Westport Congregation.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife of exactly 28 years to the day, Charlotte Parks-Moore; two sons, Curtis Moore and Vincent Tunley (Kesha), Kansas City, MO; stepson, Jamie McDaniel; five brothers, Robert Moore (Roseann), Texas City, TX, Charles Moore, Sr., (Shelia), Shannon Moore, Kansas City, MO, George Moore , Zion, IL and Phillip Moore (Gina), Houston, TX; four sisters, Willa Lane (Morris), Phillippia Washington (Vernell), Kymberly Moore and Renee Butler (Michael), all of Kansas City, MO; eight grandchildren, Jade Moore, Yasmine Moore, Kesian Tunley, Alicean Tunley, Emorrien Tunley, Bobby McDaniel, Eimaj McDaniel and Jayden McDaniel, over 100 nephews and nieces, cousins other relatives and friends.
Memorial services Saturday, October 12, 11:00 a.m. at Westport Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
