Franklin D. Childress, Jr., "Frankie" 53 of Kansas City, MO passed away Saturday, February 20, 2021.
Franklin D. Childress Jr, "Frankie", was born to the union of Franklin D. and Hazel R. Childress on July 2, 1967, in Kansas City, MO. Frankie or Frankie Jr, as he was known to many who knew him, departed this life unexpectedly on Saturday, February 20, 2021, in Kansas City, Mo. He was the oldest and only son of his parents two children. He was preceded in death by his only son, Franklin D. Childress III.
Frankie attended schools in the Kansas City District, including Southeast High School. Frankie worked in the food industry as a cook at several establishments in and around Kansas City. He also held several warehouse jobs.
Frankie was united in marriage to Vickie Williams and two daughters was born into this union. Frankie and Vickie's marriage was later dissolved, but they remained friends.
Frankie was a friendly and outgoing person. He had a funny sense of humor and was loved and liked by many. He loved his family and would do anything to help them if he could. He loved to brag about barbequing, he thought he was a King on the grill. He could not keep still, he always had to stay busy. Frankie loved to laugh, and he had a contagious smile. Frankie was loved by many and he will truly be missed.
Frankie leaves behind to mourn his passing and cherish his memories, his beloved daughters: Victoria Childress, Deshonda Childress, Eboney Childress, Deja Childress, and Danielle Childress all of Kansas City, MO; his parents Frank and Hazel Childress of Kansas City, MO; his sister, Michelle Childress (Tre) of Kansas City, MO; eleven grandchildren, one niece; Traci'Auna, two nephews; Kenneth and Marquail, two great-nephews, his brother-in-law Jimmy, friend Damon, several aunts, a host of cousins, and friends.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors Chapel. Interment Twelve Gates Cemetery. Visitation 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Due to Covid 19 masks and social distancing is required. Condolences may be shared at our website.
