Fred Artis Hervey, 71, KCMO, passed away on February 22, 2018. He was born May 18, 1946 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the union of John Hervey, Sr. and Ellarine (Robinson) Hervey. Both parents; one brother, George Hervey and two sisters, Jewell Luster and Irma Taylor preceded him in death.

Fred lived in Little Rock, Arkansas for thirty four years and was educated in the Little Rock public schools. He was a graduate of Horace Mann High School where he was a star athlete on the track team. After graduating, he went on to work as a custodian at Little Rock Central High School for fifteen years. While at Central, Fred befriended many students and staff members, two people in particular were Sylvester Allen and Calvin Tillman.

In 1980, Fred moved to Kansas City, Missouri and worked for Western Electric Company. During that time he met and married Ellaraine Green on April 24, 1982. To this union five daughters were born, and he gained a step daughter whom he loved dearly.

Fred accepted Christ and was baptized at Jackson Memorial Freewill Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather who will be greatly missed by his family.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife of thirty-five years, Ellaraine Hervey; six daughters, Artise Hervey, Sharaine Hervey, Cierica Hervey, Tierica Hervey and Rayonica Hervey all of Kansas City, MO, and Malissa Green of Alexandria, VA; one brother, John Hervey; two sisters, Letha Woodson and Mary Pearison; eleven grandchildren, Daryn Jr., Ariah, Tariyah, Tavon Jr., Marziyah, Arleah, Tayana, Teandre, Robert Jr., Kelvin Jr., and India; one great grandchild, Levi; one nephew/god son, Lawrence Pearison; and a host of nephews, nieces other relatives and friends.
