Freddie Mae Reed, 86, made her transition on September 30, 2019 at the home. She was born March 27, 1933 to Fred Walter Johnson and Gladys Gilkey. She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, James E. Johnson, Joseph Johnson, Roy Lee Johnson, Charles Johnson and James E. Johnson; two sisters, Alma Jean Johnson and Girtha McClendon; and her daughter, Cynthia Davis
Freddie was educated in the public schools of Missouri. She accepted Christ and was active in church as a choir member, greeter, and church mother. She was employed with Yale Cleaners in Tulsa, Oklahoma for number of years, from which she retired around 1999. Freddie was united in marriage to Edward Clyde Reed. She loved cooking for special occasions, as well as giving birthday parties for family, friends and co-workers. She taught her grandchildren how to sew, crochet, cook, roller skate and swim. For the new born babies she often crocheted blankets and pillows, and butter with magnets to attach to your fridge. She leaves to cherish her memory: one son, Bobby J. Church; two daughters, Sharon K. Rodgers and Joya Walker; three sisters, Barbara J. Herron, Clarice Johnson and LeShelle Moorman; a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services Saturday, October 12, 11:00 a.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Interment Leavenworth National Cemetery. Visitation 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the chapel. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
