G. RAYMOND HAAS JR.

G. Raymond Haas Jr., 83, of Independence, Missouri, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026, at 11:15 a.m.

Raymond was born to G. Raymond Haas Sr. and Elouis L. Renick, and was lovingly raised from infancy by his devoted grandmother, Hilda Haas, whom he adored deeply. He has now joined her in heaven.

Raymond proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He enlisted on August 7, 1967, and served the majority of his deployment in the field during the Tet Offensive. He was initially assigned to the 25th Infantry Division, 22nd Regiment, Company C, and later to E Company. His Military Occupational Specialty was 11C40 Indirect Fire Infantryman. Through courage, discipline, and leadership, he rose to the rank of E5 Sergeant.

His military honors reflect his dedication and service: the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, two Overseas Service Bars, First Class Gunner 81 Mortar, Sharpshooter Rifle, and Expert Pistol. He carried the weight of his service with quiet strength and enduring pride throughout his life.

After returning home, Raymond built a respected career as a commercial appraiser, known for his integrity, steady work ethic, and attention to detail.

Raymond embraced life fully outside of work. He enjoyed going dancing, found joy in caring for animals, and loved to travel, specifically across the USA. He was the lead for many road trips and found great joy in spending time with loved ones in new places. He had a sharp wit and a great sense of humor that made conversations memorable. He was generous with both his time and resources, faithfully supporting his favorite charities. He also never outgrew his love for good music, especially AC/DC.

He is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia Haas; his sons, Michael Haas and William Haas; his stepdaughter, Hillary Bartlett; his grandchildren, Marissa Haas, Jonah Haas, Nathan Haas, Trenton Haas, Bennett Bartlett, and 3 great grandchildren; and his sisters, Cynthia Hazen and Pam St. Germaine.

Raymond will be remembered for his loyalty to family, his generosity toward others, his humor, and the steadfast strength that defined him. He had a signature way of ending every phone call, "Talk to ya." Those words now carry even greater meaning for the many who loved him.

His life was marked by service, resilience, laughter, & love.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
