Garry A. Davis, 62, passed away on January 4, 2017. He was born August 24, 1954 in Kansas City, Kansas. His father, Harry Davis, Sr.; mother, Olivette Smith; brother, Steven Davis; and a grandson, Devonte Adams preceded in him death. Garry was educated in the public schools of Kansas City, Missouri and graduated from Rainer Beach High School in Seattle, Washington. He excelled in boxing, basketball and track. Garry was a United States Navy Veteran. Upon discharge, he worked at several hospitals in both the Kansas City and Seattle areas, most recently being employed as a surgical technician with K.U. Medical Center. He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Vanessa Davis; his children, Monique Davis, Tanisa Brassell (Darrell), Victor Sandifer, Jr., Toya Mills, Mindel Kaid (Anthony) and Esther Starr; one brother, Harry Davis, Jr.; two sisters, Rhonda Davis and Diana Rideaux (Nathan); two aunts, Hattye Sexton and Elizabeth Davis; mother-in-law, Betty Nolen; twelve grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 14, 11:00 a.m. at Progressive Church of God in Christ. Private disposition. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the church.
