George B. Forte, Sr. was born on September 12, 1932, in Clarksville, Texas (Red River County). He was the youngest of eight children born to Joe Forte, Sr. and Bessie Wells-Forte. In March of 1954, George was united in matrimony to Doris Faye Duke, with this union they were blessed with six children. George and Doris were married 55 years until she moved to her home in heaven.

George worked for over 50 years serving this community. He was very active in starting many sports teams and coaching them. He was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. He also was a member of the Pride of the West Masonic Lodge - Prince Hall Mason of KC, KS. He was an avid golfer, lover of jazz, and a proud Chiefs fan.

George B. Forte, Sr. was preceded in death by his lovely wife, Doris F. Forte, a great-granddaughter Dystini C. Forte, his mother, father, five brothers: Edward James, Willie M., Enos, Jessie Lee, Joe Jr. and one sister, Jeanette Harrell. George leaves to cherish his memory one sister, Lena McNeill (Artis), five sons: George B. Forte, Jr., David A. Forte, Sr. (Geri), Bryan K. Forte, Marcus A. Forte (Hope), Michael S. Forte, his godson - Joe Cobbs (Monica), one daughter Kimberly C. Forte-Swinton (Jonathan), and goddaughter, Pamela Pearson.

He was the adoring grandfather to: George Forte III (Deltricia), Wesley Forte (Karessa), Christopher Forte, David Forte Jr., Kenneth Forte, Carlston Forte (Erica), Brandon Isaac (Tailor), Erann Forte, Do'Marsha Forte, Jonesha Broadway (Stefan), Kymesha Swinton, Delsha Swinton and Faith Forte along with thirteen great-grandchildren, a host of nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends.

Funeral service Monday, February 17, 2020, 11:00 a.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church. Interment XII Gates Memorial Gardens. Visitation 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the church. Service conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
