Gerald William Bennett was born September 24, 1963 to the union of Gideon and Allie Bennett.
He confessed his love for Christ at an early age. Gerald attended Kansas City, Missouri Public Schools and was a graduate of Central High School Class of 1981. He went on to join the United States Army becoming a United States Veteran.
He met Shelia Diane Estell the love of his life and they were united in marriage in 1988.
Gerald departed this earthly life on Friday, February 4, 2022. He was preceded in death by his wife Shelia Bennett; his parents, Gideon, and Allie Bennett; siblings, Charles Lewis, Terrance Lewis, Curtistine Lewis, Maralyn Lewis, Veronica Bennett, Anthony Bennett, and Diane Bates.
He Leaves to cherish his memories his children: Lee Rimmer of Kansas City, Missouri, Lucretia Rimmer of California, Naketra Bennett of Kentucky, Shannon Bennett and Tre' Bennett of Kansas City, Missouri; siblings: Steven Bennett, Vernita Bennett, LeRoy Bennett (Bobbi), Warren Bennett, Sr. (Christine), Maurice Bennett Sr. (Jodi), Andrew Bates Sr., grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday February 19, 2022 at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors Chapel. Visitation 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Interment Monday, February 21, 2022, Leavenworth National Cemetery.
Masks are required for attendance.
