Geraldine (Gerry Guy) Hunter was born on March v16, 1939, in Little Rock, AR to Mr. Vernon Hunter and Mrs. Louise Jackson and was raised by her grandmother Mrs. Viola Townsend Glover.
She was preceded in death by her son Mr. Clarence J. Hunter (Danny Boi).
Ms. Hunter graduated from the University of Arkansas Little Rock with a B.S. in Nursing and completed requirements to earn her Foster Care license as well. She was a lifelong member of Zion Grove Missionary Church serving in several capacities as a missionary under the late Rev A.L. Johnson and current presiding Pastor Michael E. Brooks. She was also an Eastern Star.
Ms. Hunter was married to Lawrence Guy who is now deceased. Mom also had a life-long companion Walter Howard who is also now deceased that she loved dearly. During her early years she worked at multiple hospitals as a neonatal, pediatric, geriatric, and ICU nurse. She also served as a private duty nurse for many years for Mr. Gershon.
Mom decided to take early retirement to become a stay-at-home mom in 1992 to raise her children.
Mom believed in Christ the Lord our Savior, and she also had the gift of prophecy. She served her community outside of church with Bishop Glass (Mother Rose) and Earnistein Madison in a spiritual capacity, helping others to find their truth and life purpose. Her silent strength, intuition, willpower, and no-nonsense attitude made her a force to be reckoned with. Her advice and wisdom were constantly sought out until her health would no longer allow her to serve.
She was loved and cherished by many who crossed her path.
Mom departed this life on 24 February 2022 at Highland Rehabilitation Center.
She leaves to cherish her memory: Geraldine Shero Hunter (daughter), Guretha Maria Hunter (daughter), Akeema Winters, Ashera Winters, Ahkeem Hunter, Akeelah Hunter, Aliricha Hunter, Anthony Jr Jackson, Nygerria Ford (grandbabies) Dorothy Williams (sister) Samuel Hughes (brother), and Robert Lee Jackson(brother) and a special friend Keith.
